Iryna Martynova - Concert Pianist

The Foundation of Sound

Born into a musical lineage in Kyiv, Iryna's connection to the piano began not as a choice, but as an intuition. Picking out melodies at home from infancy, her formal journey began at the age of six, establishing a discipline and passion that has never ceased. Her development accelerated significantly at thirteen when she was accepted into the prestigious Kyiv Lysenko State Music Lyceum, an institution reserved for exceptionally talented children.

Mastery and Lineage

Iryna's academic career culminated at the renowned R. Glier Municipal Academy of Kyiv, where her artistry was further refined by the esteemed professor Eugene Rjanov, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. This rigorous training instilled in her a profound respect for classical structure and historical context, providing the foundation for her deeply interpretive approach to the repertoire. Her lineage traces a commitment to the highest levels of pianistic tradition, a commitment she carries into every performance.

Academic Excellence

Iryna's credentials span both Eastern European and Swiss educational traditions, combining performance artistry with pedagogical expertise. She completed her Master's degree at the R.M. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music in 2014, specializing in solo piano performance, chamber music, accompaniment, and music pedagogy. This comprehensive training established her as both a performing artist and dedicated teacher.

Her commitment to teaching excellence continued at the Haute École de Musique (HEM) in Geneva, Switzerland, where she earned a Master of Arts HES-SO in Music Pedagogy. Currently, she is completing a PhD in Musicology and Psychology at the Ukrainian Free University in Munich, deepening her scholarly understanding of the music she performs and teaches.

A Voice on the Global Stage

A truly international artist, Iryna has captivated audiences across the globe, bringing her interpretive clarity to major stages in Switzerland, France, Sweden, Turkey, and India, alongside performances throughout Ukraine. Her collaborative spirit is evidenced by her extensive work with leading national ensembles such as the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Ukraine, and famous Ukrainian vocalists, including Nina Matvienko, Illaria, and Telnuk.

Translating Narrative into Sound

Beyond interpretation, Iryna is also a compelling composer. This creative outlet allows her to explore the spontaneous connection between emotion and sound, a philosophy central to her work. Her debut album, Dreams, released in December 2021, reflects her ability to translate personal narratives into original pieces.

This same artistry is what Iryna brings to concerts and private events across Europe, from intimate weddings in the Swiss mountains to corporate galas.
