Iryna Martynova is a concert pianist, composer and piano teacher based in Zug, Central Switzerland. Born into a musical lineage in Kyiv, her connection to the piano began not as a choice but as an intuition: she picked out melodies at home from infancy, and her formal study began at the age of six. At thirteen she was accepted into the Kyiv Lysenko State Music Lyceum, an institution reserved for exceptionally talented children.

Her academic career culminated at the R.M. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music, where she completed her Master's degree in 2014 with a specialisation in solo piano performance, chamber music, accompaniment and music pedagogy. There her artistry was refined by Professor Eugene Rjanov, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels — a rigorous training that instilled a deep respect for classical structure and historical context. In Switzerland she earned a Master of Arts HES-SO in Music Pedagogy at the Haute École de Musique (HEM) in Geneva, and she is currently completing a PhD in Musicology and Psychology at the Ukrainian Free University in Munich.

A truly international artist, she has brought her interpretive clarity to stages in Switzerland, France, Sweden, Turkey and India, alongside performances throughout Ukraine. She has worked with leading national ensembles including the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Ukraine, and with the Ukrainian vocalists Nina Matvienko, Illaria and Telnuk.

Her repertoire spans classical and Romantic works, jazz standards, pop, ballads and crossover arrangements, music for two pianos and piano four hands, and her own compositions. Her debut album, Dreams, released in December 2021, reflects her ability to translate personal narratives into original pieces. Alongside her concert work she teaches privately in Zug and online, guided by a simple principle: technique serves expression.
